Fife Leagues 2

Thirty Fins swimmers took part in the recent Fife League, second round, held at the Michael Woods Centre.
Again Fins swimmers had an excellent outing with some interesting statistics for the meet.
In the League 21 Swimmers competed in 39 swims and only three of these swims failed to gain a top ten finish. In terms of improvement the swimmers returned a 69% improvement rate and recorded five wins.
In the Novice League 9 swimmers competed in 12 swims with only one failing to secure a top ten finish, although all 9 swimmers achieved a top ten finish. In terms of improvement the novice swimmers returned a 100% improvement rate for the second league in succession.

Fife League – there was no overall top swimmer for Fins as three swimmers gained a win and 2nd place finish. These were:
Claire Thomson, 15 and over girls, 1st – 100m Butterfly; 2nd – 200m Breaststroke
Kyle Pate, 15 and over boys, 1st – 100m Freestyle; 2nd – 200m Breaststroke
Arran Stowe, 15 and over boys, 1st – 200m Breaststroke; 2nd – 100m Butterfly
The other two winners were Sam Lewis, 15 and over boys, 1st – 100m Breaststroke; 3rd – 50m Breaststroke and Theo Goodfellow, 13/14 boys, 1st – 100m Breaststroke; 5th – 200m Freestyle.

Sophie Hill, 15 and over girls, 5th in both the 50m and 100m Freestyle
Erin O’Connor, 13/14 girls, 5th – 100m Freestyle, 6th – 200m Freestyle
Peter Scott, 13/14 boys, 5th – 100m Freestyle, 7th – 50m Freestyle
Kimberley McCabe, 5th – 50m Breaststroke; 9th – 100m Freestyle
Emma Hand, 13/14 girls, 7th – 50m Freestyle

Jessica McLeod, 11/12 girls, 8th – 50m Freestyle.
Although she did not quite make a top ten finish the remaining swimmer – Molly Burns, 13/14 years girls, was the most improved swimmer, reducing her 100m Breaststroke by 6.18 seconds. The next two top improvements came from Peter Scott who reduced his 100m Freestyle time by 3.78 seconds and Kirsty Davis who reduced her 100m Butterfly time by 3.37 seconds.
In the Novice League there were no winners but the top swim for Fins came from Heidi Mellon, 9 and under girls, who gained a 2nd place in the 25m Breaststroke and a 5th place in the 50m Breaststroke.

The top three improvers in the novices were:
Molly Sweeney – 5.45 seconds of her 50m Freestyle
Heidi Mellon – 3.64 seconds off her 25m Breaststroke
Scott Bonnar – 3.44 seconds off his 25m Freestyle
